Chiltern Farm Chemicals was established in 1980 and has over thirty five years experience in developing slug pellet formulations.

Chiltern introduced the first low dose 1.5% TR3799 metaldehyde® pellet to the UK market in 2002 and until 2009 Chiltern produced both 3% and 1.5% pellets.  In 2009 Chiltern took the decision to concentrate on 1.5% metaldehyde pellets and so discontinued slug pellets with higher % metaldehyde concentrations.

This development, not only on the actual formulation of the pellet, but also in the manufacturing processes achieves equivalent, sometimes even greater, efficacy with less environmental impact when using either wet or hybrid 1.5% TR3799 metaldehyde® slug pellets.

In the UK market the 1.5% TR3799 metaldehyde® products with their low rates of application are better suited than higher % metaldehyde pellets in combating the problem of metaldehyde exceedances in water without farmers having to turn to more expensive molluscicides, or complicated alternative methods of control, or losing efficacy in slug control.

TR3799 metaldehyde® products, are easy to use, effective in the field and provide a cost effective method of slug control.
